Career-ending shoulder injury (two reconstructive surgeries) cut short his playing career as a defensive back at UW-La Crosse after two seasons. Pivoted to coaching, serving as linebackers coach during final two years (1995-96), helping team win 1995 NCAA Division III National Championship (14-0). Completed B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science: Sport Management in December 2016, finishing 560-hour internship through the Packers while serving as Director of Player Personnel. Career: Saints training camp assistant (Summer 1995), Packers scouting intern (Summer 1997), Chiefs scouting assistant (1998), Packers East Coast college scout (Dec. 1998-2000), Packers Southeast college scout (2001-11), Director of College Scouting (2012-15), Director of Player Personnel (March 2016-17), GM (January 8, 2018-present). Key accomplishments: 73-42-1 record (.634) since 2018 ranks 4th in NFL, 1st in NFC. First team in NFL history with three consecutive 13-win seasons (2019-21). Drafted Jaire Alexander (2x All-Pro, 2x Pro Bowl), Rashan Gary (2024 Pro Bowl), Jordan Love (3rd QB ever with 4,000+ yards and 32+ TDs in first year as starter), Jayden Reed (franchise rookie receiving records), Edgerrin Cooper (PFWA All-Rookie). 2024 free agency: Xavier McKinney (first-team All-Pro safety since Darren Sharper 2000) and Josh Jacobs (Pro Bowl) - first time since 1993 two UFAs earned Pro Bowl in first season.
